KRUSEMAN FIRST IN MSCS PADUCAH VISIT |
 |
By Eldon Butcher
Paducah, KY - August 3. Cory Kruseman of Ventura, California, drove to victory Friday night in the 30 lap feature held at Paducah International Raceway for the Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series. Kruseman was behind the wheel of the Kruseman Motorsports Bullet sponsored by Sanders. It was the first victory for Kruseman in Hoosier Tire Midwest Sprint Car Series competition and the first visit by the sanctioning group to the Paducah facility. The veteran campaigner left his calling card with a heat race victory and then collected the $2,000 feature payoff to complete a perfect evening. Kruseman started in the second row of the 20 car field and moved to the front in just 4 laps. A number of drivers assumed the role of challenger including Hunter Schuerenberg, Hud Cone, Kyle Wissmiller, and Mat Neely. Schuerenberg led 2 laps before falling prey to Kruseman’s forward drive. Cone was the next to occupy the role of the challenger. Meanwhile Kruseman moved higher and higher on the prime real estate of the fast 3/8’s mile high banks until he was just inches off the walls in the corners.

McKee, Carlson, Garner and Yearington (twice) are Best at Adams County Speedway |
 |
The Chase for the Championship
has begun at the Adams County Speedway for the NASCAR Whelen All-American
Series. Todd McKee, Jerry Carlson,
Mike Garner and Kevin Yearington all picked up feature wins with Yearington also
taking the NAPA hobby stock King of the Hill presented by Sunoco/Diamond
Oil/Ironman Racing Supply.
Todd McKee jumped from his
outside front row start in the Whelen late model feature and raced to a
comfortable lead. Paul Glendenning
was the first to get through traffic to try to get to McKee. Glendenning got the job done of reeling
in McKee, but ran out of laps to see if passing for the lead could be
accomplished. For McKee it was his
first win on the season.
Glendenning, Chris Spieker, Karl Ritterbusch and Jason O’Brien rounded
out the top five.

Josh “Kid Rocket†Richards makes it two straight at Hagerstown |
 |
HAGERSTOWN, MD – It
doesn’t matter what Rocket Josh “Kid Rocket” Richards is in
and even if it’s on short notice. Richards, of Shinnston,
WV returned to victory lane for the second
consecutive time, having won Saturday’s 40-lap 27th Annual
Shorty Bowers/Bull Durham Championship Independent Racing Series (IRS) event in
the Ernie’s (Davis)
Auto Enterprises Rocket Chassis. This triumph follows the previous race date
two weeks ago when he scored victory in the 60th Anniversary event,
his first win in five months aboard the Rocket house car fielded by his father,
chassis builder, Mark Richards.
“I’d like to thank Ernie Davis for offering me this ride,”
said Richards. ”I didn’t even know I was going to race until about
12 o’clock today. I’d like to thank the guys on the crew and Robbie
Allen for tuning on this thing. We gambled a little bit on tires but it worked
out for us. I’d like to thank my dad for coming up here with me but it
was fun.”

Sizemore gets back to early season form with dominate win Saturday night. |
 |
Guest writes "It
had been four races since the 20 car visited victory lane but a good
draw and a little luck made the trip back a little easier. Sizemore
started in the fourth position behind Tony Beck, Ben Hill and Tony
McDowell and didn’t take much time going to the front as Hill and Beck
got together on the first lap allowing Sizemore to squeeze to the
outside and move into second behind McDowell. On lap two, McDowell
pulled it to the bottom through 3 and 4 and Sizemore stuck it on the
high side and motored around Tony to take the lead. The race for the
lead was over at that point as Sizemore extended his lead over the next
13 laps to take the victory over second place Kenny Taylor and third
place Tom Cleghorn.
“We
had an awesome car tonight. The track was dry but our car handles great
in conditions like this.” Sizemore said. “It feels good to get back to
victory lane. Hopefully we can get here a few more times before the end
of the season.” www.z-tyracing.com "

By Tony Veneziano, WoO Sprint Series PR Director
For the 47th
consecutive year, the best sprint car drivers in the world will
converge on the famed Knoxville Raceway this week for four nights of
intense racing to crown the winner of the 47th
Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals. The biggest event in sprint car
racing will pay $150,000 to the winner of the 30-lap finale on
Saturday, August 11. Before making the trip to Knoxville for the 47th
Annual SuperClean Knoxville Nationals, all 23 full-time drivers with
the World of Outlaws took a couple of minutes to share their thoughts
on the Knoxville Nationals.
Tony Bruce Jr., driver of the Best Well Service Maxim
“Last
year we were the rookie of the year and made the A-Main in our first
trip there. In a way it’s good and in a way it’s bad, because our
expectations are really high going into it. Hopefully we can repeat
what we did last year…Anytime you get paid real well is a good thing.
Even if they didn’t pay that much money, it’s still a big event and
everybody wants to win it. We have to try and treat it like any other
day and any other race and go in there and do our job.”
